Aviation Specials  |  Britain's Buses Vol 9
Voted by Buses readers as the most significant bus design of the past 75 years, the Bristol Lodekka changed the way double-deckers were configured to fit under low bridges and paved the way for universally accessible vehicles we take for granted today.
Volume 9 in the Britain’s Buses series looks at the development and operation of the Lodekka in its different forms, with Bristol experts Martin Curtis and Allan Macfarlane sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm for one of the most significant bus designs of the 20th century, one that changed the way many services were delivered.
It also describes the six models the private sector produced in the years that the Lodekka was in production and dip into the later lives of these soundly produced vehicles, a few of which have been adapted for new revenue-earning roles.
