Located on Wesley Street, a renowned strip of independent shops in Merseyside, is OmNom Zero Waste. It was set up by Victoria Hughes after she started to live a more environmentally-friendly lifestyle and wanted to inspire others to do the same. Here, she tells more.
I had already been reducing my own plastic waste for about 18 months before opening OmNom Zero Waste in January 2019. I was aware that there were refill shops opening in the south of the UK and, after seeing their impact, I was inspired to bring the concept to Southport with the hope of making this way of shopping accessible to people. The name of the shop combines the three issues the shop aims to address: Om – a light-hearted nod to wellbeing.
