How to understand others better
Hello, my name is Helena Bennett, my pronouns are she/her, and I’m going to explain to you why stating pronouns needs to become normalised. Pronouns traditionally refer to a person’s gender. Some people might not identify with a certain gender, some might have changed their gender and some might not want to declare their gender - all of those reasons are okay. We typically identify pronouns with a certain gender - ‘he’ for a male and ‘she’ for a female. But many people prefer being identified as ‘they’ and integrating ‘they’ into our pronoun vocabulary is becoming more widely used.
