Mile High Card Company’s December 2023 auction produced the six-figure sales of two of the most important Rookie Cards of the postwar era: 1951 Bowman #253 Mickey Mantle PSA 8 NM-MT, and 1951 Bowman Willie Mays #305 PSA 8 NM-MT.
Mantle was Lot #1 in the auction and sold for $378,997 after 31 bids.
Mays was Lot #2 and sold for $200,173 after 24 bids. Only nine copies of Mays’ RC have received a higher grade than PSA 8 NM-MT.
