ONE MORE YEAR

WHEN HE STEPS ONTO THE COURT OCTOBER 24 IN DETROIT AGAINST THE PISTONS, VINCE CARTER WILL SET AN NBA RECORD FOR MOST SEASONS IN THE LEAGUE – 22.

The 42-year-old future Hall of Famer was re-signed by the Atlanta Hawks before the preseason, and has announced that this will be the final season of his career. When the calendar flips from December 2019 to January 2020, Carter will become the first player in NBA history to play a game in four decades. The Hawks became Carter’s eighth NBA team when the club signed him for the 2018-19 season. In 76 games with Atlanta last season, he averaged 7.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists. He also became just the 22nd player in NBA history to pass the 25,000 career point total.

Carter was the 1999 NBA Rookie of the Year while with the Toronto Raptors. He also has played for New Jersey, Orlando, Phoenix, Dallas, Memphis and Sacramento. He’s played in 88 postseason games where he has averaged 18.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.4 assist and 1.1 steals.
