THE FIANCEE of a Campbeltown man jailed in India on firearms charges has been given fresh hope about a possible release.
Yvonne MacHugh last week received news from the Foreign Office that Theresa May would be raising the plight of her fiancee, ex-paratrooper Billy Irving, with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The development refreshed the campaign to bring Mr Irving home and his family posted a message of support on the ‘Bring Billy Back’ Facebook page. It read: ‘As Theresa May travels to India today she has assured us she will raise the men’s case. We still have time to get Billy home for Christmas.’
