COMMUNICATIONS watchdog Ofcom’s proposals to open BT’s poles and ducts to competitors is great news says Argyll and Bute MP Brendan O’Hara.
Last week Ofcom’s plans were opened for consultation. They are intended to make it simpler for rivals wanting to create super fast fibre optic broadband networks to use BT’s existing telegraph poles and ducts.
Mr O’Hara has welcomed the move and said: ‘I have consistently and openly criticised the roll-out of superfast broadband, particularly across Argyll and Bute which has only achieved 58 per cent roll-out so far.
