THE SCOTTISH Land Commission is reviewing issues associated with scale and concentration in land ownership.
The commission points out that Scotland has an unusually concentrated pattern of land ownership compared to other countries. The pattern has remained largely unchanged for decades.
Concern about the effects that this has on rural communities and the wider public interest has long been a central issue in the land reform debate in Scotland. To help the Scottish Land Commission better understand the issues, it is opening a call for evidence and experience on concentrated land ownership.
