A charity fundraiser has been told she deserves to be named ‘woman of the year’ after raising more than £2,000. Three quizzes, compiled and run by Helen Gilchrist, generated £2,036 which has been donated to the Mairi Semple Fund. Pauline Simson, the chairperson of the charity, which supports people with cancer in Kintyre, said Helen deserves the title after raising so much money single-handedly.
