Canadian Yachting  |  February 2016
IN THE FEBRUARY 2016 CANADIAN YACHTING – February is the start of the Boat Show season with great shows in many major Canadian cities, starting with the Toronto International Boat Show January 8 to 17.
The Vancouver and Halifax International Boat Shows follow and in all the shows, you will see some grand new yachts as well as smaller boats and accessories of all types. The rebounding American economy has marine industry businesses developing new products at a rapid pace!
In this issue, we hear about two important Environmental initiatives driven by individuals; see “Plastic Pickup in Paradise” by Linda Leitch and the story of Lake Ontario Waterkeepers and Mark Mattson, by Elizabeth Ann Kerr.
The Galley Guys go to Amsterdam and take a canal boat through the picturesque Dutch countryside. Travel writers Mark Stevens and Sharon Matthews-Stevens take us through the near-by but rarely seen Lake Superior shoreline while Craig Nicholson and his group ride the Ottawa River down to Montreal on Sea-Doos – a spectacular ride even trailer boaters can enjoy.
Speaking of enjoyment, Margaret Swaine reminds us of the great Bermudian tradition of the Dark ‘n Stormy as the Americas Cup racers head to the island.
Then there are the dream boats!
Read all about the Jeanneau 54, the Azimut 55 S and the new Cruisers Yachts 60 Cantius!
