Classic Car Buyer  |  No.228 TV Good for Classics
Although messing about under
a classic car’s bonnet is a
huge part of the enjoyment
of owning a cherished vehicle,
many owners prefer to entrust
their pride and joy to a specialist
repairer when it comes to tackling
more complex jobs, such as fixing
major faults with the mechanicals
or bodywork. Finding a suitable
repairer with the knowledge
to work on a classic can be a
problem. However, a quick chat
with the proprietor of a local
garage combined with a nose
around the workshop, if allowed in
these health and safety conscious
days, will soon indicate whether
the establishment is sympathetic
to older vehicles or not.
I’ve had a fascination with
traditional garage workshops for
as long as I can remember and
found myself in classic heaven last
week when I visited Forge Garage
in the village of Lullington in South
Derbyshire.
