Classic Pop  |  Classic Pop David Bowie

We celebrate David Bowie with 'When Bowie Went Pop', a massive article on David Bowie's Eighties music and influence, featuring new interviews with his guitarist and creative collaborator Carlos Alomar, bass player Carmine Rojas and author of Starman: The Definitive Biography Paul Trynka. We look at how David Bowie's music defined the 1980s pop landscape and also study the work that he made during that decade - from Scary Monsters to Never Let Me Down.

Tears For Fears reveal the background of their 1983 classic album The Hurting; we reveal The Top 50 12-inch singles that defined a music format and a generation; Mark Frith talks Sheffield, the city that spawned The Human League. Heaven 17 and Cabaret Voltaire; exclusive interviews withTony Hadley, Giorgio Moroder, Belinda Carlisle, Wet Wet Wet, Howard Jones and Jim Kerr; Labelled With Love on Virgin Records, the label that produced so many classic recordings; Kate Bush on The Hounds Of Love; The Police, The Lowdown; and reviews of releases from New Order, Heaven 17, Saint Etienne, Belinda Carlisle, and Nik Kershaw plus live reviews of Blondie, Depeche Mode and Glastonbury.

We really hope you'll join us for our latest celebration of the fabulous world of pop!

The mag that pop fans deserve Reviewed Saturday, January 21, 2017
About time - a mag for great pop music that treats us like grown-ups. Brilliant. Loads in there from bands like Depeche Mode, Human League, The Smiths and 90s stuff too.
Stunning tribute to George Reviewed Saturday, January 21, 2017
Wow. Just opened my new issue of Classic Pop and there's so much inside. I'm a lifelong George Michael and Wham! fan so I was blown away by the features devoted to George. Solo stuff, Wham! stuff - all the albums, singles and videos. So much better than the other mags out there.
Love this mag!! Lots of my favourite artists Reviewed Saturday, January 21, 2017
I'm a subscriber to the digital edition of Classic Pop and absolutely LOVE it. Loads of great interviews with my favourite bands. The reviews section has tonnes in it as well. Can't fault it and look forward to the next one coming out...
Amazing George Michael tribute Reviewed Saturday, January 21, 2017
Just picked up my latest issue and the George Michael tribute is superb. Almost a third of the magazine devoted to George this time - better than any of the other titles out there. Well done Classic Pop!! :)
