POLYDOR
What should an ostensibly indie band (albeit one with a heavily treated sound) do after a huge global hit? On the evidence of the fourth LP by the Oxford quartet, the answer is more of the same. There are plenty more would-be Heat Waves here, all at a similar head-nodding tempo, and all with that vaporous quality so common in modern pop – only the swaying doo wop-influenced Lost In The Ocean sticks in the memory.
Its title may implore passionately, but it’s hard to feel anything much about this except indifference.
