Synth-pop icons Soft Cell may have played their final major concert but that might not spell the end of the duo. Marc Almond and Dave Ball have been swapping ideas with a view to recording their first new music in 17 years.
Speaking at the premiere of the film documenting their final gig at the London O2 Arena last year, Almond said: “This 40th celebration, boxset and the things we did in the concert – in our eyes and the fans’ eyes as well – really made everything OK. It settled everything with them. It opened a door maybe, and that door might remain open. We’ll see what happens. It’s true that we have been swapping a few little ideas together for maybe a song or two.”
