Holster selection does not have to be an overwhelming task. When choosing a holster consider the following things: What am I using this for—open carry or concealed carry? Where on my body do I want to carry it? Which gun can I carry either openly or concealed on that part of my body?

Once you figure out what you need your holster to do, start considering material, retention and issues such as how good your draw stroke is or is not with a certain design. Just as not all carry methods work for all people, not all holsters are appropriate for every job or body type. Do your homework but be prepared to run through a few—or a few dozen—holsters before you find the perfect one. To help you narrow it down and reduce the size of your castoff holster box, we’ve chosen some good quality offerings from various manufacturers. Check it out. CC

01.DeSantis Gunhide Tuck This II

The DeSantis Gunhide Tuck This II is a nylon holster designed for IWB—inside the waistband—carry. The holster is made from heavily padded 1050 Denier Ballistic nylon for durability and to resist risk of snags. Its interior is lined with a slick cloth for a smooth drawstroke and to reduce friction on the firearm itself. A single, rugged belt clip is used to attach the Tuck This II to the user’s belt and fits belts up to 1 3/4-inches wide. The clip is adjustable so it can be used for either cross-draw or strongside carry. DeSantis carefully stitches this holster to fit your gun’s model for better retention than many nylon holsters offer and also makes it a snug fit to reduce chances of slippage. Tuck This II for semi-automatic pistols also features an attached spare magazine holster (because you should be carrying a spare magazine). This holster is made for comfortable IWB and spare magazine carry.
