They must have had large pockets in the 1800s. This .31-caliber percussion revolver with 4½-inchround barrel is a rare Model 6A variation of the 1855 Colt 1855 Pocket Revolver, manufactured in 1866. It features engraved ivory grips with a raised relief of an eagle on a cactus with a snake in its talons, a take on the Mexico coat of arms. The frame has vine scrollwork while the cylinder features a stagecoach holdup scene. It was recently put up for sale through Rock Island Auction and is valued somewhere between $8,000 and $12,000.
