POSITION YOURSELF TO SURVIVE

STANDING UP STRAIGHT AND TALL IS NOT THE WAY TO PREVAIL ON THE STREET
Iraqis train with the Isosceles Stance while firing their Glock pistols.
The prone position allows the use of very low cover such as this curb.

In this article, I refer to “shooting positions” rather than “shooting stances” because I believe the subject is broader than often covered in basic firearms training. Whether we”re talking about civilians going through concealed carry training, police officers at the academy or military personnel in basic handgun training, a shooting stance is learned and then used for training.
