Lyle Lovett is a C2C coup. The singer-songwriter hasn’t released a new album since 2012, but faithful fans who still love his 1997 Grammywinning The Road To Ensenada will be thrilled.
Lady Antebellum bring their Fleetwood Mac-ish country back to the UK after a big 2017 tour. Carly Pearce and Hunter Hayes will add able main-stage support to Lady A on the most ‘poppy’ nights of the three-day bill. Pearce’s second album is due very soon.
And Brett Eldredge also appears on the main stage – he mixes his crooning country with unlikely covers such as Kanye West’s Gold Digger (eh?) and Queen’s Crazy Little Thing Called Love. “I want you to be surprised,” the 32-year-old says. “I don’t want you to expect this will be something you’ve heard from me before. Listen to it as if you were taking a vacation.”
ON THE SPOTLIGHT Stage – and performing during the headline acts’ turnarounds – Catherine McGrath and Wandering Hearts bring some Brit country to C2C 2019. Abby Anderson is a US newcomer, as is multi-instrumentalist Caroline Jones – she toured last year with Eagles and Tim McGraw & Faith Hill among others. California trio Fairground Saints bring their own sunny harmonies to country, while Jimmie Allen is already a star in the US – his debut single Best Shot was a Country Radio chart-topper. Runaway June also debut – the trio earned a 2018 ACM nomination for New Vocal Group Of The Year.
At the CMA Songwriters Series on 7 March at Indigo at The O2, Cam, Jimmie Allen, Ross Copperman, Travis Denning and Laura Veltz perform and talk songwriting.
