SHERYL CROW
Ageless songstress lifts the roof in New York
LIVE AT THE CAPITOL THEATRE

★★★★
Sheryl Crow has never seemed the type for a séance. But before the songwriter treads the boards of the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York, she puts out a request to “all you spirits that have been in this room – be here”. If the walls of this fabled 1920s venue could talk, they’d slur, telling of wild nights in the company of Janis Joplin, Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop and Pink Floyd. But in the opening moments of this show from November 2017, as the camera pans over a silvery audience sat doggedly on their arses, you fear Crow may face an uphill battle.
