Diesel&EcoCar Magazine October 2019 Back Issue

The cover of the October 2019 edition of Diesel Car and Eco Car Magazine trumpets the launch of an updated version of the mighty Audi SQ7 TDI quattro, but that’s not the only hot Audi in this month’s issue, as we put the Audi S4 TDI Avant quattro through its paces on UK roads. And it’s a real winner, covering ground faster than any other diesel estate car on the market. There’s also news about Audi’s A1 CityCarver, the Porsche Cayenne plug-in hybrid range and details of the expansion of the joint venture between Ford and the Volkswagen Group.

Skoda’s Scala faces the Kia Ceed in this month’s twin test, and we’ve been driving the Series 6 Mitsubishi L200 pick-up, the new SsangYong Korando and the Skoda Kamiq – a car that is set to shake up the small SUV sector later this year. Nissan’s updated X-Trail with the latest 1.7-litre dCi engine is tested in this issue, and we grab the keys to the new front-wheel-drive Volvo XC60 with D4 engine. The Mercedes-Benz A 220 d AMG Line is ground-breaking because it avoids the Government’s four per cent company car tax premium on account of being RDE-2 emissions compliant, and we’ve put it through its paces. Finally, in Eco Car, we’ve been trying out Kia’s updated Niro Hybrid, and what a cracker it is. While it may look similar on the outside, the upgrades to the cabin are most welcome. Read all about it in this month’s issue.

We say hello to the Honda Civic Saloon with automatic transmission, as it joins the long-term test fleet, and we say goodbye to the Skoda Karoq and Citroën C4 Cactus. 60 years ago, the Mini was born and what a legend that has become. We look back over the last six decades, and the part diesel power has had to play.

If you’ve haven’t seen the facelifted Diesel Car & Eco Car magazine, then get yourself a copy now, because we’ve freshened the layout and design, and made it easier to read. There’s brand new features and items being added in every issue.

diesel, green cars, electric mag

The UK’s leading magazine for diesel, green cars, electric, hybrids and alternative fuelled vehicles, full of advice on tech, mechanics, future plans. great photos inspiring reviews Reviewed 21 August 2022

I like the way it has evolved over the years

I have been buying it in print and online since the early 2000s and I like that it always has focused on the economy end of motoring, or us cheapskates if you like. It has moved to covering hybrids and electric cars which is good, and hasn't forgotten its roots - diesels.

It's a friendly, down to early mag and Doctor Diesel is still the best bit.
