OUTSTANDING EDWARD AWARD Canadian artist and photographer Edward Burtynsky is being honoured with the Outstanding Contribution to Photography prize in the annual Sony World Photography Awards 2022. Over a dozen of his large-scale works will be presented as part of the Awards’ exhibition at Somerset House, London, next year. The overall award winners are set to be announced on 14 April 2022.
HEROINES OF PHOTOGRAPHY The pioneering charitable organisation Hundred Heroines is set to announce another 25 inspiring photographers to join its growing list celebrating women in photography. The new tranche of female shooters, including Indu Antony, and Sue Williamson hail from Australia to India, South Africa to Chile. Hundred Heroines originally unveiled the first 100 photographic heroines on 14 December 2018, and that list has now doubled to 200 names.
