STUDIO 54

Directed by Matt Tyrnauer

The eponymous NYC nightclub beloved by the queer community only existed for 33 months before it all came crashing down around co-owners Steve Rubell and Ian Schrager’s ears. This and so much more is revealed in Tyrnauer’s fascinating documentary about how two young friends from Brooklyn took the New York club scene by storm in the late 70s. A queer Shangri-La, where famous drag queens brushed shoulders with Hollywood royalty, the story of Studio 54 is vividly brought to life.
