Created by Swedish cinematographer turned self-shooting director Jonny von Wallström, The Pearl Of Africa is unlike any other trans documentary we’ve seen so far. The intimacy with which Wallström captures Cleo and “Nellie’s” relationship makes for a refreshing and genuinely touching film.
