THE VIEW FROM THE GROUND

by Martha Gellhorn

“I’ve always wanted to be a journalist, but reading The View From The Ground was the first time I knew what kind of journalist I wanted to be. Gellhorn, a war correspondent, spent her career exploring political, civil and social issues and crises from the point of the view of the people affected, and made an art of the human interest story. It was The View From The Ground that made me want to champion the underdog, the other, and those of us that are so often invisible in mainstream narratives. I doubt I’d be where I am today without this book.”
