WHERE ARE THE WOMEN?

I remember the moment I snapped, the split second in which I thought “things have got to change”. It was during an LGBT+ theatre festival and a drag artist made a derogatory and misogynistic aside about lesbians. I left the theatre feeling angry, invisible and on the sidelines. This wasn’t the first time; often I have found LGBT+ spaces are not truly inclusive of all people. Misogyny, biphobia and transphobia unfortunately still lurk in so-called “safe spaces”, the theatre included.
