A selection of over50 pieces of original artwork from theDoctor WhoWH Allen/ Target Books range from the 1970s and 80s are to go on display for the first time together.
The display will take place between 28 April and 11 May 2016 at The Cartoon Museum in London and promises works by Andrew Skilleter, Jeff Cummins, Roy Knipe, Tony Masero and the very first artist for the range, Chris Achilleos.
Doctor Who brand account manager Edward Russell, who has organised the display, tells DWM: “I’ve long-wanted to put on an exhibition of these wonderful and inspiring pieces of art from Doctor Who. Even today, Chris Achilleos’ work for the first three novels looks fresh and exciting and it’s no wonder that The Complete Ninth Series box set contains artwork inspired by it. With BBC Books re-releasing the Target range, I finally found an excuse to contact the collectors of these paintings and am pleased to say that – at the time of writing – we have about 50 covers about to be loaned.
