Dolls House World  |  Issue 352
Storybook Cottage on our front cover this issue really gives us a taste of summer around the corner.
It’s one of those idyllic country cottages that really comes into its own when the sun’s shining and the gorgeous garden looks so appealing.
You might think its creator is a passionate gardener, but Jodi Hippler freely admits: “I’d love a real life large garden, but don’t have a green thumb or a strong back. Thankfully, creating a garden to wander through in miniature is just as satisfying for me.”
Losing oneself in miniatures can be great therapy. Linda Grant tells us about the Queen Anne House a friend gave her at a time in her life she needed it the most. She was a breast cancer patient and said of the house: “Much like me, it was in a state of disrepair and needed lots of tender loving care.” You can see the results of her passionate renovation on page 20.
In Small Accomplishments another reader tells us how she was diagnosed with a condition that effected her balance and co-ordination. Her answer was to buy another mini kit to work on, and she’s convinced that put her on the road to recovery.
Just put it down to the mindfulness of miniatures. So just sit back, relax and enjoy the issue.
