Just where would we be without the women in our family trees? With surnames traditionally handed down the male line, and with mothers’ names often missing from important family history documents, it means that it’s very much easier to trace men than women in the records. Yet without remembering and researching the lives of our foremothers we’re only learning half the story of our family histories.
And the story is what it’s all about. The story where you’ve come from, how you tick, what it is that makes you who you are. It’s the true tale of your ancestors and the way their lives played out. It’s gaining an insight to each of them and the times they lived through. Their hopes, passions, dreams, triumphs and tragedies.
