The London Mint Office is offering a free coin to commemorate 100 years since the end of WW1, and to launch a partnership with In Flanders Fields Museum in
Ypres, Belgium, in the region where more than 600,000 fell. The official ‘At The Going Down of the Sun’ coin recalls the famous ‘Ode of Remembrance’ taken from Laurence Binyon’s timeless poem For The Fallen. The coin was designed by Paul Day, whose Battle of Britain monument is currently sited on the Victoria Embankment in London.
