Great Meadow is one of the Southern’s fastest kinks. So a ‘dab of oppo’ through it is as impressive as sight as you’ll see all year...

The Southern 100 event may as well have been branded Dunlop Days, given Michael Dunlop’s domination of proceedings over three day midweek event. On his Hawk BMW RR, no-one has been able to touch him on the roads this year, and that story rang true at the Isle of Man’s most laid back hardcore modern event –the Southern 100. His mastery of courses he’s raced on, and his control of the most rabid bike in the paddock, are outrageously impressive – every bit as awe inspiring as anything that has taken place on a Moto GP, WSB BSB track this year. Brushing walls, dangling legs, backing his bike in and wheelieing it out were all on show, and the assembled ranks of spectators were not disappointed – when some thought they had a right to be.
There you are, Matt Mylchreest (no. 82), trying your bollocks off, having a solid race towards the back of the pack, when this happens. With half an eye for the snappers waiting, Michael Dunlop showb oats in style over the lip at just after Williams corner.
