Very few of us are lucky enough to try absolutely everything you can do on two wheels, but there’s plenty out there to fall in love with!

It’s funny, isn’t it, how many of us like our bikes and biking the way it is, and rarely try anything new or different. Or, we’re happy as we are, and are not bothered that we’ve never gotten our knees down, or pulled a wheelie, tried a different brand or style of motorcycle, or learned how to tackle a seemingly vertical drop on an Enduro bike, and a dozen other things of the same ilk.

Yet all these experiences are out there, awaiting us, and not all cost the earth either unless it’s new bike we’re talking about. The best part though, is that it’s usually only a day’s activity, maybe two, but enough to discover whether or not you actually like it and want more. So we’ve gathered together here a slew of two-wheeled tomfoolery for you to consider in 2018 if you’ve never considered it before – see if something takes your fancy!

The ability to touch moving knee to reversing surface is a little superfluous on the road, well, for the majority of the time at any rate! On track it’s something that usually will just happen as you become more confident, a by-product of what you’re doing, if you will, even for those who may enjoy a more sedate circuit experience.

Learn safely, then terrorise local roundabouts!

Yet if you’re concerned that you may be so shocked the first time your knee goes down that you will thusly completely forget where you are and what you’re doing, through shock or sheer joy, there are those out there who have you covered. They can teach the how, why, and what to do. There’s the i2i Motorcycle Academy bunch, who recently took our sister magazine MSL through their course, and they loved it. They run courses in York, Norfolk, Kent, Exeter and Hertfordshire, and the knee-down course is their ‘Machine Control 3’ option. You don’t even need to use your own bike, if you don’t want to, as you’ll be having a crack on their Triumph Street Triple R with bags of space to learn.
