TEST
To my knowledge I’d not used Continental tyres on anything for a long time before our blind test. I didn’t expect I would be able to guess which any of even the more familiar tyres were so I didn’t think for a second that I’d be able to tell which the Contis were. But after a few laps on them though, I had a feeling the rubber the R1M was wearing were those with the least sport background.
The initial few corners, despite the Contis wearing warmers for an hour before the first stint, didn’t feel massively confidence inspiring. They seemed to have a really vague connection with the tarmac at first, so much so that I had wondered if the tyre warmers had gone for a Burton (we checked afterwards and the tyre warmers were absolutely fine).
