A part from it changing colour a bit, what happens to the oil when it’s in your engine and why do we really need to change it? Well, who better to ask than the boys and girls at Rock Oil? The family-run business has been blending oil since 1928 and now export over 2,000 different products to 70 countries from its HQ in Warrington; it’s fair to say that the business probably knows everything there is to know about oil. And it’s not just bike stuff, either. From industrial to agricultural, from marine to motorsport, there’s a Rock Oil range to do the job. So, after having a little nosey around the factory, we sat down with Rock Oil’s Technical Director, Martyn Waterhouse, who explained (in basic enough terms for a simpleton like me to understand) why it’s so important to change your engine oil frequently.
