Courtney Act

The world watched as Bianco Del Rio won the tiara in the season six finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race. But if you ask us, hunty, it really could’ve gone to any of the final three queens. With the library closed, we caught up with Courtney Act and Adore Delano to find out what comes next now the race is over

First printed in GT Summer 2014

Take a deep breath – Courtney Act has a lot to say and we love it.

“Doing the show was so much fun,” she begins recounting her Drag Race experience. “It’s not often – especially when you’re a drag queen – you get to wake up each morning and do what you love doing, to such a high standard, so that was really cool. Also to have a new group of 13 friends who you’re able to grow and learn with and go through it all. Watching it back on television was slightly different because it was interesting to see how things are portrayed. I don’t know if I would call it bitchy or mean, but I think they took my blunt Australian honesty and popped in a pregnant pause and a slurp from a straw and if you weren’t discerning enough to listen to the comment and hear that it wasn’t mean spirited, the reaction made you think it was mean spirited. Once it was all said and done I think I had a good comeback, a race towards the finish line, and it was such a fun experience at the reunion and the coronation in Vegas. Getting to spend that time with all the girls is what really makes it special.”
