We’ve also got some beneicial savings when it comes to Easter calories. It’s easy to slip into munching hefty quotas of chocs and treats. Having given up chocolate for Lent, I’m really looking forward to being reunited with dark and milk varieties. But after reading our chart that spells out how much we have to do to burn of Easter choc calories (p76), I’ll be eating them more mindfully. One treat we do urge you to try this month is our cover pavlova recipe (p62). This light pud replaces eggs with whisked aquafaba, the drained water from the chickpea can. It works brilliantly and produces a light, delicious vegan meringue – at only 195 calories per slice.
