How work affects your fitness…
Plumbers, builders and electricians are more energetic than personal trainers, a survey by IronmongeryDirect has found. In fact, they’re among the UK’s most active workers, with an average of seven hours’ daily activity under their belts. All that bending and stretching burns 2,500 calories a day, compared with the meagre 200 calories burned by an IT worker. A welcome reminder that every little bit of movement counts. If you work in an office, get more activity into your day by heading out for a ‘walking meeting’ and standing up whenever you’re on the phone.
