WHEN THE SUN’S OUT, many of us are just as likely to light up the barbie as we are to put on the oven. And, while veggie and vegan options are becoming ever more popular, the majority of us still view meat as a grillable favourite. While most dietitians agree reducing meat intake is a good idea, they also acknowledge that eaten in moderation it can play a part in a healthy diet as it’s so full of nutrients. At the top of this list is protein, important for muscle and bone strength and for boosting the feeling of fullness after eating – which, in turn, has a role in appetite and weight management.
