US research that compared the nation’s largest 100 cities found that those with higher ‘ParkScores’ (according to the online rating website, which takes into account a park’s accessiblility, amenities and spaciousness), had more active residents. It’s easy to take our parks for granted, or walk by the facilities they offer – from tennis courts to basketball rings and outdoor gyms – but why not make a pledge to make the most of your local green patch, and reap the rewards?
