Love what you do A long time ago, when I worked as a journalist, I interviewed the late, great Anita Roddick, and she said: ‘If you love what you do, you never actually do a day’s work in your life.’ I don’t think that’s strictly true – running a business is hard – but passion does go a long way.

Teamwork is key We can’t be good at it all, so having people who bring different things to your life is so positive. I was lucky when I began the beauty company; I co-founded it with a friend [Kim Buckland] and we had different strengths.
