SILENT SAVIOUR Rosalyn is on the lookout for more unsung saviours of World War II like Irena Sendler – us too!

I was interested in Pat Kinsella’s article about one of the saviours of Jewish children during World War II, Irena Sendler (February 2018 . It seems that there are still many unsung heroes and heroines of the war – for example, it was only recently that I heard about Sophie Scholl and the White Rose resistance group, who lost their lives spreading news of the war crimes in Nazi Germany.

Many more stories will surely be lost, since no one has survived to tell them. After all, it took many rejections before Anne Frank’s diary, the source of much deeper understanding of how Jews experienced life in those times, was discovered by publishers and made known to the world.
