There are many age old British legends about temples and churches that have been built in the wrong place. Many of those that went up on some ancient holy or evil site – where the land belonged to the fairies, or perhaps even Lucifer himself – had a disastrous construction that was believed to be bedevilled and cursed. at is, until some kind of supernatural divinity interceded to ensure one final go at building the house of God succeeded.
