Home Farmer Magazine April 2016 issue Back Issue

April is the first true full month of spring, and the April issue of Home Farmer celebrates this most wonderful time of year. From sowing and growing, to planning your veg for storing later in the year, Home Farmer has got it all sorted, with the very best tips and techniques, including a planting method which should keep tall plant pots in action all year round. We also deal with broodies, get the bee-keeping season off to a flying start, visit a Sussex farmer who re-wilded an entire farm, and check out January with the Tyne family as ewes are scanned and the milk yield from the house cows ends. Our recipes feature microgreens - both growing them and eating them, seafood dishes, and a couple of barnstorming classic spring wines, while our DIY includes a project to build a small loom and a feature about green roofs - an attractive way of insulating a house, protecting the roof, and reducing the likelihood of flooding. We've also got - free of charge - the official 16-page guide to this year's Edible Garden Show at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire, complete with all the timetables and details of events, so we'll hopefully see you there at one of the nation's brightest and inspiring events for all home farmers.
