A Guid New Year, Tae One and All

Wel, 2018 was full of surprises for sure. We started off wi’ jist one dug and 7 car seats, but the ‘dog to seating arrangements’ ratio was soon to be transformed, ……

So here we go.

January

Saw the arrival of an orphan, not just any orphan, but oor ain baby orphan.

Regular readers will be aware he came with the name of William, which was changed to Laoch (Hero) and just as promptly amended to Wii Shiite.

He was a mere collection of skin and bones, floppy lugs and attitude…oh boy, did he have attitude.

Still, Dad informed me that sticking a stamp on his heid and sending him back to Galashiels was not an option, so we jist had to get on with it.

I was put in charge of his training.

This may not have been such a good idea, as whilst Me and Dad consider ourselves as equals, Laoch views me as the ‘Alpha’ and Dad as a sibling.

I fear it’s too late to rectify this now.

Our first real walks of the year were 2 of our favourites, being The Secret Beach, and the Cuillin foothills at Sligachan.

Dad says we had to start Laoch off on nice easy daunders.

We did find, unlike myself, he had an aversion to water though, be it rain, puddles or lochans.

Being on Skye, he had no option but to get used to the rain and puddles, but to this day, he still canna swim.
