Boredom Meant Brexit

Scot Goes Pop

WHICH post-war election in Britain would you say has been the most significant and transformational? The 1945 Labour landslide doesn’t count for the purposes of this question, because the war continued to rage in the Pacific for another two months after Clement Atlee became Prime Minister. So that would appear to leave only three obvious possibilities: a) the narrow Labour victory of 1964, which paved the way for a rat of liberalising reforms on homosexuality, divorce, abortion, censorship and the death penalty, b) the Tory victory of 1979, which unleashed the Thatcher Revolution of mass privatisation and deregulation, and c) the Labour landslide of 1997, which facilitated the establishment of a Scottish Parliament and a National Assembly for Wales.
