Calvary (also known as Golgotha) was the hill where Jesus Christ was crucified, and a calvary (calvario in Italian) is an artistic representation of the scene. The Calvary of Manduria is the work of Giuseppe Renato Greco, a ceramicist who constructed it entirely out of recycled materials. As a tourist attraction, it isn’t promoted as much as it might be. Perhaps Greco was (and still is) ahead of his time.
