Artemisia comes to London
This year the UK celebrates one of Italy’s most exceptional painters. Seventeenth-century artist Artemisia Gentileschi remains one of the nation’s most successful female painters, having enjoyed a long career at a time when it was not easy for women artists to be accepted. In April the National Gallery will open its doors to the UK’s first major exhibition of her work. ‘Artemisia’ will feature around 35 of her works from public and private collections around the world. ‘Artemisia’ runs from 4 April - 26 July 2020 at the Salisbury Wing of the National Gallery in London. www. nationalgallery.org.ukt
