WARMING VEG PHOTOS WANTED
The RHS has put out a call for pictures of SecondWorldWar vegetable plots for an exhibition to mark the 80th anniversary of the launch of the Dig for Victory campaign. The charity will display advisory material and propaganda that inspired people to grow food to supplement ration-book diets at its library and gardens this autumn, and wants to include photos of wartime gardens and allotments.
The exhibition will be on show at the four RHS gardens –Wisley in Surrey, Rosemoor in Devon, Hyde Hall in Essex and Harlow Carr in Yorkshire – from October 14 to November 17. Photos and information for the Dig for Victory exhibition should be sent to libraryenquirieslondon@rhs.org.uk
