PLANT SELFBLANCHING CELERY
Celery is one of those plants that can either grow very well and produce a good crop of stalks, or it can struggle. Much depends on the soil you are growing it in and in order for it to establish and grow well you need a fertile, well-drained soil with plenty of organic matter. It also needs growing fast without any checks in growth. Selfblanching varieties are ideal to grow as they don’t need blanching and young plants need planting out as soon as the danger of frost has passed. Plant in blocks so the plants help to blanch each other. Keep the soil moist at all times through the summer.
