BUYING DEFENDER TDCi
Demand for the last generation of Defender is as strong as ever. It’s never really eased up since Land Rover announced it would cease to produce the
iconic off-road vehicle in 2015. Suddenly, dealer order books filled up and even secondhand stock was snapped up quickly. Not only were Land Rover
fans keen to get their hands on one of the last ‘proper’ Land Rovers but first-time buyers were fulfilling a dream to own a Defender. As a result
demand and prices remain strong – and supply is more limited than it has ever been. The 2.2 TDCi Defender entered production in 2012, following five years with a 2.4-litre engine from the same Ford stable. The 2.2 is more refined and gives a far better all-round driving experience than any previous Defender. Desirable? You bet – but you need to make sure your considerable investment goes into securing the best possible vehicle. So, read this first – then go and buy one.
