Romeo and Juliet vs Tony and Maria

WHICH COUPLE IS THE MOST TRAGIC?

Romeo and Juliet (from William Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet)

Romeo and Juliet are two of the most famous lovers of all time. Their story was immortalised by William Shakespeare in his play Romeo and Juliet. The story is set in 14th century Verona (Italy). It is the tale of two young people who are torn apart by a family feud that ends in their untimely deaths. Romeo and Juliet instantly and helplessly fall in love, but their families (the Montagues and the Capulets) are life-long enemies. They have a secret love affair and get married. But things get complicated, so Juliet comes up with an ingenious plan to escape from her family with her lover. As part of the plan, Juliet takes a drug that makes her appear to be dead. Her family thinks that she is dead, so they take her to the family crypt.Tragically, Romeo hears that Juliet is dead and takes some poison, knowing that he can’t continue living without his one true love. And just when you thought that things couldn’t get any worse, Juliet wakes up to find that Romeo is dead. In a state of despair, she stabs herself.
